DEV3 Kindred – Pet Supplies Shopify Theme (Online Store 2.0)

DEV3 Kindred is a Shopify theme for pet supply stores: food, treats, toys, beds and walking gear for dogs, cats and small pets. It is playful but premium (Nunito, cream, navy, mint and coral, rounded colour "islands") with springy motion and one 3D object: a toy ball in the hero that bounces with squash-and-stretch and jumps higher when tapped.

Shop by pet and by need

• Shop by pet: up to 4 big round tiles (dogs, cats, small pets) with product counts; cards wobble on hover.
• Shop by need: up to 6 tabs (play, feeding, sleep, walks) that swap the product row in place; an accessible tablist with arrow keys.
• Pet chips on cards and the product page from the tags pet-dog, pet-cat and pet-small.

Help owners buy the right thing

• Size finder: pick dog, cat or small pet and slide to its weight; the matching size row lights up with a recommendation (kg or lb).
• Feeding guide on food pages: a weight slider that calculates a daily portion from two simple metafields, hidden when they are not set.
• Size table on products tagged sized.

Repeat delivery, honestly

• If a product has selling plans from any subscription app, the Repeat delivery block lets the customer pick a real plan and it is added with the cart line.
• Without a subscription app, customers choose a rhythm (every 2–8 weeks) that is saved as a reorder reminder on the order. There is no repeat billing in that mode: you send the reminder, for example with Shopify Flow or your email tool.
• Shown on products tagged autoship by default.

Reviews, giving back and vet advice

• Pet reviews: polaroid-style cards with pet name, breed, paw rating and the product they love. Use real customer photos with permission; add a reviews app block for verified product reviews.
• Rescue partner: a partner badge, an animated counter and a progress bar towards a goal. You update the numbers; nothing is calculated automatically.
• Vet advice: the latest articles from a chosen blog with a "Vet reviewed" badge.

Online Store 2.0, built from scratch

• Our own Online Store 2.0 base, built from scratch (not a Dawn fork): JSON templates, sections everywhere, app blocks, and header and footer section groups. Every section can be added, reordered, duplicated or hidden in the theme editor.
• Cart drawer that updates in place, predictive search, quick view and quick add, Storefront filtering and sorting (with the free Search & Discovery app), swatches, recommendations, recently viewed, mega menu, country and language selectors, customer accounts, gift card and password pages.
• Native 3D model media: upload a .glb or .usdz to a product and the gallery shows Shopify's 3D viewer with a "View in your space" AR button on supported phones.
• Motion settings: animation level Off, Subtle or Full, reveal style, duration and stagger, split headings, magnetic buttons and tilt. Visitors who ask for reduced motion always get static content, and the 3D object shows a still frame.
• The 3D engine (three.js) is not part of the initial page load: it downloads only when the hero object is near the viewport and pauses offscreen. Without WebGL, a poster image shows instead. The initial JavaScript is about 24 KB gzip.
• Shopify Theme Check: 0 errors. The theme was tested live on a Shopify development store: add to cart, the cart drawer and the handoff to Shopify checkout.

What's in the download

• dev3-kindred-1.0.0.zip: the theme. Upload this zip itself under Online Store → Themes → Add theme → Upload zip file.
• Documentation/: the HTML guide (open index.html).
• Demo-Content/: products.csv, seed.json, images/ and models/kindred-bounce-ball.glb, plus a README for the manual import.
• LICENSE.txt and START-HERE.txt

The demo is the fictional Kindred & Co. pet store: 16 products (35 variants), 8 collections, 6 pages, a vet-advice blog with 3 articles and 59 rendered product, pet and journal images. Import it with Products → Import (CSV) and follow the demo README for images, collections, pages and menus. A scripted seed is available from DEV3 support on request; it runs against your own store with your own Admin API token.
