DEV3 Circuit is a Shopify theme for electronics and gadget stores with a real catalogue: phones, audio, wearables, smart home and accessories. It is built for the way people shop tech, by category and by spec, with compare, tech-spec tabs and bundles built in. The look is sharp, with rich motion and one 3D hero object: procedural earbuds and a case that come apart into driver, board and battery as the shopper scrolls.

Built for a catalogue

  • Mega menu with columns and a promo tile, and the Circuit category bar: icon chips under the header (phone, earbuds, headphones, watch, home, plug and more), with the current page marked automatically.
  • Category bento: large, wide or normal collection tiles with a pointer spotlight and product counts.
  • Spec chips on every card from a custom.highlights metafield, plus colour dots and a Compare checkbox.

Compare without an app

  • Tick Compare on any card and a floating compare tray slides up, holding up to 4 products.
  • Compare now opens a dialog that loads each product's specs through Shopify's Section Rendering API, with a "Differences only" switch. The selection is kept in the shopper's browser.
  • The Circuit spec compare section is a fixed table of 2–4 products for the home page or a launch page.
  • Specs come from one custom.specs metafield, one Name: value per line, and rows line up by name.

Product page and selling more

  • Circuit tech tabs: highlight tiles, then Overview, Tech specs, In the box and Warranty & support tabs; empty tabs hide. Keyboard arrows work and an ink bar slides between tabs.
  • Circuit bundle: a main product plus up to 3 add-ons; the total updates live and Add bundle to cart adds every ticked item in one request. It adds items at their normal prices; use a Shopify automatic discount if you want a bundle discount.
  • Circuit deals countdown with flip digits, an end date and an end message, above a deals collection.
  • A cart drawer with a free-shipping meter and accessory upsells, and a product.landing template for launches.

Neon or Clean

Choose Neon (graphite with a volt-lime glow, Space Grotesk headings and monospace spec type) or Clean (a light, soft-grey look with a blue accent and Inter headings) under Theme settings. The glow, spotlight and neon lines all follow the scheme's accent colour.

Online Store 2.0, built from scratch

  • Our own Online Store 2.0 base, built from scratch (not a Dawn fork): JSON templates, sections everywhere, app blocks, and header and footer section groups. Every section can be added, reordered, duplicated or hidden in the theme editor.
  • Cart drawer that updates in place, predictive search, quick view and quick add, Storefront filtering and sorting (with the free Search & Discovery app), swatches, recommendations, recently viewed, mega menu, country and language selectors, customer accounts, gift card and password pages.
  • Native 3D model media: upload a .glb or .usdz to a product and the gallery shows Shopify's 3D viewer with a "View in your space" AR button on supported phones.
  • Motion settings: animation level Off, Subtle or Full, reveal style, duration and stagger, split headings, magnetic buttons and tilt. Visitors who ask for reduced motion always get static content, and the 3D object shows a still frame.
  • The 3D engine (three.js) is not part of the initial page load: it downloads only when the hero object is near the viewport and pauses offscreen. Without WebGL, a poster image shows instead. The initial JavaScript is about 26 KB gzip, with about 19 KB of CSS.
  • Shopify Theme Check: 0 errors. The theme was tested live on a Shopify development store: add to cart, the cart drawer and the handoff to Shopify checkout.

There is no public live demo, because the demo runs on a password-protected development store. Watch the video tour at the top of this page, or step through the screenshots at desktop, tablet and phone sizes.

What's in the download

  • dev3-circuit-1.0.0.zip: the theme. Upload this zip itself under Online Store → Themes → Add theme → Upload zip file.
  • Documentation/: the HTML guide (open index.html).
  • Demo-Content/: products.csv, seed.json, images/ and two GLB models in models/, plus a README for the manual import.
  • LICENSE.txt and START-HERE.txt

The demo is the fictional Voltix store: 16 products (67 variants) in 5 categories, New arrivals and Deals collections, 62 rendered images, 2 GLB models, 4 pages and a blog with 3 articles. Import it with Products → Import (CSV) and follow the demo README for images, collections, pages and menus. A scripted seed is available from DEV3 support on request; it runs against your own store with your own Admin API token.

Requirements

  • A Shopify store with the Online Store sales channel
  • The free Shopify Search & Discovery app for collection filters (optional)
