DEV3 Nestwell is a Shopify theme for furniture stores, home décor brands and interior shops. It is calm and Scandinavian-modern (lowercase grotesk headlines with drawn underlines, landscape "spec sheet" product cards, bone, pine, sage and clay schemes) with unhurried motion and one 3D object: a lounge chair that turns on a rug in the hero.
A 3D chair the shopper can re-upholster
- Fabrics and leg finishes are simple
Name: #hex lists; clicking a swatch eases the chair's upholstery or legs to that colour and the cushion settles.
- Link the hero card to a product, upload your own GLB to replace the chair, and set a poster for browsers without WebGL. With reduced motion the chair stands still.
Shop the room
- Shop the room: upload a room photo and add up to 10 hotspots. Dots pulse in one after another; a tap opens a product card with the price and quick add (or options). An "In this room" list highlights its dot on hover or focus.
- Complete the room: up to 6 products with tick boxes and a live total. Add selected to cart adds every ticked piece in one request and opens the cart drawer. There is no automatic bundle discount; add one with Shopify discounts if you want.
Answer "will it fit?" before checkout
- Dimensions: a drawn width × height diagram with the seat height marked, plus a table and the variant weight, from integer metafields in centimetres.
- Will it fit?: customers enter their narrowest doorway and their floor space in cm or inches. The block compares them with the piece and shows fits, tight or won't fit, with a scaled floor plan.
- Delivery estimate: a date window from today plus the product's lead time in working days (weekends skipped), with three delivery steps. It is an estimate, not a courier promise.
- A fabric samples link on products with a Fabric option, and materials and care from metafields. Cards show the number of fabrics or finishes and "Ships in…".
Materials, showrooms and trade
- Materials: up to 8 materials in a row that pins and scrolls sideways on desktop with a progress rule; phones swipe natively.
- Showrooms: up to 6 cards with city, address, hours, phone, image and a booking link; hovering a card lifts its pin on a stylised map.
- Trade & design service: an enquiry form (trade account or design service, profession, project, budget, rooms, timeline and message) sent through Shopify's contact form, with up to 4 numbered perks.
- Page templates for About, Trade & design, Showrooms, Materials, FAQ and Contact.
Online Store 2.0, built from scratch
- Our own Online Store 2.0 base, built from scratch (not a Dawn fork): JSON templates, sections everywhere, app blocks, and header and footer section groups. Every section can be added, reordered, duplicated or hidden in the theme editor.
- Cart drawer that updates in place with upsells, predictive search, quick view and quick add, Storefront filtering and sorting (with the free Search & Discovery app), fabric and wood-grain swatches, recommendations, recently viewed, sticky add to cart, country and language selectors, customer accounts, gift card and password pages.
- Native 3D model media: upload a
.glb or .usdz to a product and the gallery shows Shopify's 3D viewer with a "View in your space" AR button on supported phones. The demo lounge chair ships with its model.
- Motion settings: animation level Off, Subtle or Full, reveal style, duration and stagger. Words rise with drawn underlines, the dimension box draws itself and the delivery bar fills; visitors who ask for reduced motion always get static content.
- The 3D engine (three.js) is not part of the initial page load: it downloads only when the hero object is near the viewport and pauses offscreen. The initial JavaScript is about 24 KB gzip.
- Shopify Theme Check: 0 errors. The theme was tested on a Shopify development store, from add to cart to the cart drawer and cart page.
There is no public live demo, because the demo runs as an unpublished preview on a password-protected development store. Watch the video tour at the top of this page, or step through the screenshots at desktop, tablet and phone sizes.
