DEV3 Cadence is a WordPress theme for podcasters, musicians, bands and artists. It is editorial and bold: oversized display type with a serif italic accent, paper, ink, cobalt and coral colour slabs, and audio-reactive details that move with whatever is playing. There is one small 3D accent: a vinyl record with sound rings that pulse to the music on the page.
There is no public live demo. Watch the video tour at the top of this page, or step through the screenshots at desktop, tablet and phone sizes.
Podcast episodes
- Episodes are a post type with an episode number, season, duration, an MP3, guests and a guest role, and links to Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube and RSS.
- Chapters, one per line (
12:40 | What a bridge is for), become buttons that seek the player; the current chapter is highlighted while it plays.
- A transcript in an open/close panel, with speaker labels.
- The episode page has tilted artwork, the waveform player with speed control, show notes, a guest card and subscribe buttons. The episodes archive has topic filters, a grid/list switch and a play button on every card.
A waveform player with a mini dock
- The Audio Player widget plays the current item, a post by ID, the latest episode or any MP3 URL, with a seekable waveform (click, drag or arrow keys) and a speed button. Only one audio plays at a time.
- When the player scrolls out of view, a mini player dock slides in with play/pause, ±15 seconds, a seek bar and a link back. It remembers the position across pages ("Continue listening").
- Episode and release cards play straight through the dock without leaving the page.
- Podcast hosted elsewhere? Paste the MP3 URL from your host: playback, seeking and the dock all work.
Discography
- Releases (album, EP, single, live, mixtape) with a release date, label, a track list with running times, a preview MP3, streaming links and an optional WooCommerce product for Buy the record.
- The release page slides the record out of its sleeve (it spins while audio plays), with the preview player, the track list, the story and the credits.
- On the home page the sleeves glide sideways in a pinned horizontal rail.
Tour dates and tickets
- Tour dates with date and time, venue, city, address, lineup, doors, age policy, price and a ticket status (on sale, few tickets left, sold out, cancelled, postponed).
- Sell tickets as a WooCommerce virtual product, or paste an external ticket link. Each date page has a Buy tickets button and an add-to-calendar file.
- The Event List / Tour Dates widget lists upcoming dates soonest first and can print MusicEvent structured data with performers from the lineup.
Merch, press kit and bookings
- A styled WooCommerce merch shop: vinyl editions with colour swatches, tees with colour and size swatches, a hoodie, art prints, a cassette, a CD, a downloadable digital album, totes, pins and e-tickets. Mini-cart drawer, quick view and a size guide link are included.
- An About & Press page with a press kit block: point Download the EPK at your PDF, with hi-res artwork, band members and press quotes beside it.
- Videos with poster frames that open in a lightbox, a journal, a newsletter sign-up and Contact Form 7 forms for booking (subject, date, city and budget) and podcast guest pitches.
Motion, with one 3D accent
- Every Elementor widget and container gets an Advanced → DEV3 Motion panel: reveals, stagger, split headings, masks, parallax, counters, marquee, magnetic buttons, tilt, sticky stacks and horizontal scroll.
- While audio plays, the theme publishes its levels as CSS variables that drive glows, kickers, equalisers and play buttons. Audio on another host uses its waveform instead, so it never plays silent. Turn it off in the Customizer.
- The 3D Scene widget (preset Cadence · vinyl record with sound rings) has label title and artist, label colour, vinyl colour (black, cobalt, coral, smoke clear), two ring colours, a sleeve, audio reaction and idle spin. It loads only near the viewport, pauses offscreen and shows a rendered poster under reduced motion or without WebGL.
Edit everything
- Every demo page is built with the free Elementor plugin and DEV3 widgets, including 3D Scene, Kinetic Heading, Magnetic Button, Marquee, Counter, Audio Player, Event List, Post Type Grid, Product Grid, Testimonials, Team, Timeline and FAQ.
- The block editor gets 24 block patterns: heroes, latest episode, show notes, chapters, subscribe buttons, track list, tour dates, press quotes, press kit, booking FAQ, merch banner and more.
- Customizer: header, colours and fonts (Bricolage Grotesque, DM Sans and DM Serif Display, self-hosted and synced to Elementor), motion, 3D quality, Audio & player (mini dock, audio-reactive visuals, newsletter shortcode), footer and shop. A child theme is included.
Performance and accessibility
- The 3D engine loads only on pages with a scene, and the audio layer only on pages with players or cards. Fonts are self-hosted, with no CDN calls.
- The waveform is a keyboard slider (space plays, arrows seek), chapters are buttons and the transcript is a native disclosure. Reduced motion shows all content without animation.
- PodcastEpisode, MusicAlbum, MusicEvent, MusicGroup and FAQ structured data. RTL styles and a
.pot file.
