How to use the saas pricing and mrr calculator
Enter your plans
Add each paid plan with its monthly price, the number of customers on it today and how many new customers you add on it per month. Annual plans can be entered as their monthly equivalent. Free plans can be left out or added at a price of zero.
Set churn and growth
Monthly churn is the share of customers who cancel each month. Small business tools often see 3 to 7 percent, while products for larger firms may be under 2 percent. Growth in new sign-ups is how much faster you add customers each month; 5 percent means this month's new customers are 5 percent more than last month's. Use zero if sign-ups are flat, or a negative number if they are falling.
Gross margin is revenue left after serving costs such as hosting and support. Cost to win a customer is optional and unlocks LTV to CAC and payback.
Read the results
- MRR and ARR summarise the revenue you have right now.
- ARPA is average revenue per account.
- LTV estimates the margin a customer generates before leaving.
- CAC payback shows how many months it takes to earn back what you spent to win them.
- The chart projects MRR over twelve months, and a table with the same numbers sits below it for screen readers.
What to try
- Raise churn by one point and see how much growth you lose.
- Add 10 percent to a plan price and see the effect on ARR.
- Compare spending more on acquisition with improving retention.
Limits to remember
The model keeps rates constant and treats each plan separately. It does not include upgrades, downgrades, discounts, taxes or seasonality. Real SaaS metrics are lumpy, so refresh the inputs with actual numbers every month.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between MRR and ARR?
MRR is monthly recurring revenue: what active subscriptions bring in each month. ARR is that figure multiplied by twelve. ARR is a run-rate, not cash you have collected.
How is LTV calculated here?
Average revenue per customer per month, times gross margin, divided by monthly churn. A customer who pays 50 a month at 80 percent margin with 4 percent churn is worth 50 x 0.8 / 0.04 = 1,000 over their lifetime.
What is a healthy LTV to CAC ratio?
Many founders aim for 3 or more, with payback inside 12 months. Lower means you may be paying too much to win customers; much higher can mean you are under-investing in growth.
Why does the projection use churn and growth separately?
Existing customers shrink by the churn rate each month, while new sign-ups arrive and grow by your growth percentage. Showing both makes it obvious when growth is only replacing churned customers.
Is this a forecast I can show investors?
Treat it as a scenario tool. It assumes steady rates, no price changes and no upgrades or downgrades, which real businesses do not have. Use it to compare what-ifs, not as a promise.
