Business tool
App Development Cost Calculator
Estimate the hours, timeline and cost range of a mobile or web app from platforms, features, design, admin panel, integrations and your team region.
Free, no sign-up. Runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
Platforms
A shared codebase (Flutter, React Native) adds roughly a quarter more effort for a second platform. Fully native apps add most of a second build.
Scope
Simple: a handful of screens. Standard: typical product. Complex: heavy logic, many roles or real-time.
CRM, accounting, SMS, shipping, ERP and similar.
Features
Team region
Blended hourly rates for agencies in each region, in USD. Used only for the estimate.
Your estimate
Typical yearly upkeep (fixes, OS updates, hosting): $4,300 to $11,700.
Where the hours go
| Area | Hours | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Core app, screens and backend | 400 | $20,000 |
| Selected features | 59 | $2,925 |
| UI and UX design | 96 | $4,781 |
| Admin panel | 70 | $3,500 |
| Third-party integrations | 22 | $1,100 |
| Testing and project management | 142 | $7,107 |
Rows show the expected case; the range above widens it to cover scope that grows once real requirements are known.
This is an estimate, not a quote. Real cost depends on your exact scope, content, third-party limits and team. Treat the range as a planning budget for a mobile or web app.

How the estimate is built
The calculator adds up hours in six areas and then multiplies by an hourly rate for your region. Nothing is guessed behind the scenes: you can see each area in the breakdown table and change the inputs to watch it move.
Work through the inputs
- Platforms. Tick iPhone, Android and web. A shared codebase or separate native apps changes how much a second platform costs.
- Complexity. Simple means a handful of screens with plain logic. Standard is a typical product with accounts, lists and details. Complex covers many roles, heavy business rules or real-time behaviour.
- Design level. A template-based look with your branding costs the least. Custom UI and UX takes more. Premium adds animation and research.
- Admin panel. Most apps need a way to manage users and content. Basic covers lists and simple reports; advanced adds roles, analytics and payouts.
- Features. Each ticked feature adds its own hours, such as chat, payments, maps or offline mode.
- Integrations. Count each outside system you must connect, like a CRM, SMS provider or accounting tool.
Reading the result
The headline is a range, then the most likely figure, the effort in hours and a typical timeline. Timeline assumes a small team working in parallel. A yearly upkeep range is shown too, because apps need updates for new phone versions and fixes.
Cut cost without cutting value
- Launch with the features users cannot do without and add the rest later.
- Use a shared codebase unless you need deep device integration.
- Reuse a proven base for common modules such as accounts, payments and orders.
- Decide screens and content early; late changes are the main reason budgets grow.

Frequently asked questions
How accurate is the estimate?
It is a planning range, not a quote. It uses typical hours for common features and typical agency rates by region. Real projects move because of unclear requirements, third-party limits and changes made along the way, which is why the range is wider on the high side.
Why does the range start lower than the expected cost?
Well-defined work with an experienced team can finish faster than average, so the low end assumes a smooth project. The high end assumes extra rounds of change, which is more common than finishing early.
Is a shared codebase cheaper than two native apps?
Usually, yes. With Flutter or React Native most code serves both phones, so the second platform adds roughly a quarter more effort. Separate native apps add most of a second build but can suit apps that lean heavily on device features.
Are hosting, app store fees and maintenance included?
No. Store accounts, servers, third-party services and ongoing upkeep are separate. The result shows a typical yearly maintenance range of 15 to 20 percent of build cost so you can plan for it.
Why does region change the price so much?
Hourly rates differ widely between markets. The tool uses blended agency rates per region. A quote from a team in one region is not automatically better or worse than another, so compare scope, process and references too.
How do I get an exact price?
Share your idea and screens or a short brief with a development team and ask for a fixed-scope quote with milestones. The Get an exact quote button sends your request to DEV3.
