Sharecrest is an affiliate and customer-referral platform you host yourself, built by DEV3 Technologies on Laravel 12 and Filament 4. Each customer is a merchant with its own programs, partners, tracking links, commissions and payouts. You run it as the operator: plans, funding, payout batches and fraud review live in a separate panel.

What it does

  • Programs and rules. Affiliate programs and customer-referral programs, each with a cookie window, last-click or first-click attribution, coupon priority, hold days and a minimum payout. Commission rules are a percentage, a fixed amount or tiers by monthly volume, with caps, renewal limits and per-product overrides. Two-level commissions pay a recruiter a share of the first level, and never a third level.
  • Tracking you can explain. A 0.8 KB snippet, a scoped server API, a signed inbound webhook and a CSV import all feed one idempotent intake. Every conversion keeps the touch timeline that decided it; orders nobody earned wait in an unattributed queue you can assign with a reason on record.
  • Hold, approve, pay. Commissions wait out the refund window, then move into the partner balance only if the merchant balance covers them. Refunds and chargebacks reverse in proportion, including after payout, and a negative balance is netted against the next approvals. Payout batches are drafted on a schedule, approved by the merchant owner, and sent by a driver.
  • Money you can reconcile. The operator is the merchant of record for commission money. Merchants fund a commission balance by card or run on invoice with a credit limit; the platform fee is charged once per approved batch. A sharecrest:check command proves every wallet, the float, refund totals and payout batches agree.
  • Fraud checks. Self-referral, same IP as the buyer, fast conversions, shared payout accounts and devices, refund-rate spikes and browser-reported orders raise flags. A high score holds approval until a manager clears or confirms it, and the operator can ban an e-mail across every merchant.
  • Partner portal. Merchant-branded, mobile first, light, dark and right to left in Arabic: link builder with QR codes and sub IDs, coupons, earnings tickets, payout statements and a payout method. Referral programs get a simplified portal.
  • Panels and API. A merchant panel with a Commission Flow widget and reports (earnings per click, cost ratio, refund rate, recurring cohort), an operator panel with merchant balances, top-ups, batches, a network fraud queue and audited view-only support sessions, a REST API with an OpenAPI document and signed webhooks.

Quality checks

The release passed seven gates on the final code: Larastan level 6 with 0 errors, 347 Pest tests, a build inside the page budget, migrations and the full demo seed on MySQL 8 and SQLite, a headless smoke test of 80 pages with six race checks run on MySQL (parallel posts of one order, refunds that exceed the order, approval against a refund, two approvals of one batch, a reversal during payout approval, two payments of one top-up), the installer driven from the zip, and a secret scan. The home page scores 98 for performance and 100 for accessibility on mobile.

What you should know before buying

  • You are the merchant of record for commission money. Merchants fund a balance on your payment gateway (simulated by default). Tenants cannot connect their own Stripe account in this version.
  • Payouts are simulated or exported as a bank CSV that you upload to your bank and then mark paid. A PayPal Payouts driver is present but throws driver_not_configured until you add your credentials and finish it.
  • Stores connect through the JS snippet, the server API, the CSV import or the signed webhook. There are no cart-specific plugins.
  • Tax documents are not collected or filed. Partners store a tax country and an encrypted tax ID; commission tax is not calculated and partners are responsible for their own tax.
  • No currency conversion. An order must be in the program currency; the amount is the commissionable basis.
  • E-mail, SMS, geo-IP, DNS and SSL need your providers. Tracking-domain verification is simulated and no SSL is issued.
  • A cron entry every minute is required for holds, drafts and queued refunds; live widgets use Reverb or fall back to polling.
  • Web only: there are no mobile apps. Node.js is not needed (assets are prebuilt).

Included

Source code, the web installer, a buyer guide and API contract, demo data with fictional brands and people (12 merchants, about 3,200 partners and 1,800 customer referrers, twelve months of history), a cron entry for the scheduler, and six months of support.

How it's built

Architecture, stack, key decisions and the quality gates DEV3 Sharecrest passed before release.

The engineering behind Sharecrest: idempotent order intake, a fixed lock order for every money path, holds that outlast the refund window and payout batches that reconcile to the cent.

The problem it solves

An affiliate program looks like a link and a percentage until money moves. The same order arrives twice from the browser and the server, a refund lands while the commission is being approved, two people approve one payout batch, and a refund arrives after the partner was paid. Each of those must end in the same books, and a manager must be able to see why a partner was credited.

Architecture and approach

Sharecrest is a Laravel 12 application with a Filament 4 merchant panel, an operator panel and a hand-built partner portal. Order intake is idempotent on the merchant's order id through a unique index, never a read-then-write, and a server post always wins over a browser report. Attribution is a pure function pinned by vector files, so the same inputs give the same winner in tests and in production.

Every money path takes its row locks in one fixed order: merchant wallets, then the program, the affiliates, their earnings wallets, the commissions, the payout batch and the top-up. A test records the order of every path and compares it. Commissions are held until the refund window ends, approved against the funded balance, reversed in proportion on a refund (a paid one can drive the partner balance negative, which the next approvals net), and paid in batches whose totals are checked against the ledger by a reconciliation command.

Six races are run against MySQL with parallel processes: duplicate orders, refunds that together exceed an order, approval against a refund, two approvals of one batch, a reversal during payout approval and two payments of one top-up.

Quality gates and results

The release passed seven gates, including a headless smoke test with the race checks on MySQL. The reconciliation command passes on the demo data: twelve merchants, about 3,200 partners and a year of orders, refunds and batches.

Affiliate program software: 7 things to check before you pick one

Affiliate program software: 7 things to check before you pick one: DEV3 Sharecrest

Affiliates are the cheapest salespeople you will ever have, until the first refund, the first duplicate order or the first partner who buys through their own link. Here are seven things to check before you pick software for a program, with DEV3 Sharecrest as the worked example.

Sharecrest home page: the partner portal earnings card beside the promise to turn every fan into a partner

1. Can you explain why a partner was credited?

"The last click won" is only an answer if you can see the clicks. Sharecrest keeps the touch timeline of every conversion, lets a coupon beat a cookie when you want it to, and rejects a buyer who is the affiliate. Orders nobody earned wait in a queue you assign by hand, with a reason in the audit log.

2. Does the commission outlast the refund window?

Paying on day zero means paying for returns. Commissions wait out a hold, are approved against a funded balance, and are reversed in proportion when a refund or chargeback arrives, even after the partner was paid. A negative balance is shown to the partner and netted against the next approvals.

Commission Flow: pending to approved to paid for three months, reversed money hatched

3. Who holds the commission money?

In Sharecrest the operator is the merchant of record: merchants top up a commission balance by card, or run on invoice with a credit limit. If the balance is short, approvals stop with a clear reason instead of overdrawing anyone.

4. Can partners recruit partners without a pyramid?

Two-level commissions pay a recruiter a share of the first level when the recruit sells. There is no third level, and the recruiter is only paid if they are an approved partner at that moment.

5. What happens to suspicious orders?

Rules look at self-referral, the same IP as the buyer, impossible speed, shared payout accounts and refund spikes. A high score holds approval until a manager clears or confirms it.

6. How do payouts actually go out?

A draft is built per program on a schedule, the owner approves it, and the platform fee is charged once. The default driver is simulated; the bank CSV driver gives you a file to upload and mark paid; the PayPal driver is present but needs your credentials and finishing work. Say that plainly to your buyers.

7. What are the limits?

Ask every vendor: tax forms (Sharecrest collects none and calculates none), currency conversion (none: orders must be in the program currency), cart plugins (none: snippet, API, CSV or a signed webhook), and who runs the payment gateway (you do).
