DEV3 Sentrova is a WordPress theme for security guard companies, patrol and event security firms, CCTV monitoring centres and concierge providers. Its light steel surfaces, condensed type and brass details sit on full-bleed monochrome night photography with a fine brass hairline grid, so the site feels calm, accountable and professional rather than loud.

The quote wizard

  • A four-step wizard by site type: retail, construction, events, residential or corporate; then service, guards on post and hours of cover; then extras and a start date; then contact details.
  • A live estimate panel updates as the visitor chooses. The browser only previews it: when the form is sent the server checks every value again, recomputes the estimate and rejects anything invalid, so a tampered request never reaches your inbox with a made-up price.
  • The base rate, site and service multipliers, cover presets, extras and the volume discount are yours to change. Requests are saved privately and emailed. It works without JavaScript.

Site types, licences and trust

  • Site-type tabs docked on the home hero show the risks you plan for in each sector, with a link that prefills the wizard.
  • A licences and certifications wall of text badges with issuer, number and expiry (sample numbers in the demo, clearly stamped), and a Customizer note so you show your own accurate details.
  • A 24/7 hotline bar at the top of every page with a live status dot and your control room number.
  • Control room counters, case studies with result tiles, sector pages and client reviews.

Careers

  • A jobs list and job pages with duties, requirements and benefits.
  • An application form with a CV upload: nonce, honeypot, rate limit, PDF, DOC or DOCX only up to 5 MB, a signature check, a random file name in a private folder, and a nonce-protected download for admins only.

Design and motion

Sofia Sans Condensed headings with Sofia Sans body text, square corners (0 to 4 px) and a brass hairline grid. A photo hero opens every page, with light motion: split headings, staggered grids, counters and a live status pulse. Visitors who ask for reduced motion see the final state at once.

Responsible by design

The demo uses places and equipment, never police or government imagery, and says plainly that officers are private security staff. All companies, people, licence numbers and figures are fictional samples. You are responsible for showing your own accurate licences and claims.

Compatible plugins

Sentrova works on its own. Elementor, WooCommerce and Contact Form 7 are supported with compatible styling and a class map in the documentation; the theme does not call their APIs.

How it's built

Architecture, stack, key decisions and the quality gates DEV3 Sentrova passed before release.

A flat, light and brass, photo-led theme for guarding companies: a four-step quote wizard by site type with a server-checked estimate, a licences wall, case studies and careers with a private CV upload, all editable in Elementor.

The problem it solves

Security company sites are mostly a phone number and a list of services, often with stock photos of uniforms that imply an authority the company does not have. Buyers want a price idea, proof of licences and a human on the end of the phone. Companies want enquiries that arrive with the site type, hours and guard numbers filled in, and applications that arrive with a CV, safely. The brief: calm credibility, an honest estimate, and a careers form that handles files responsibly, without 3D scenes or heavy scripts.

Architecture and approach

Sentrova is a classic PHP theme with theme.json on DEV3's shared theme core, flat (no WebGL). The DEV3 Theme Toolkit plugin owns content types, widgets, request storage and the demo importer; the theme owns presentation and the niche features.

Key design decisions

  • The estimate is checked on the server. The browser previews the number; the server validates site type, service, guards, hours, extras and start date, recomputes the figure and rejects invalid input.
  • Works without JavaScript. All four steps render on one page and script only adds the stepper, the tabs and the live preview.
  • Forms render at request time. Content slots keep nonces fresh and the ?site= prefill working inside cached Elementor pages.
  • Files are handled carefully. CVs are checked by extension, type and signature, renamed, stored in a private folder and downloaded only by editors with a nonce.
  • No borrowed authority. Photos show places and equipment; the licences are sample text badges and the copy says officers are private security staff.

Quality gates and results

Sentrova ships as a complete guarding-company site with a one-click demo: 6 services, 5 sectors, 6 case studies, 4 jobs, 6 licence cards, 5 reviews, 5 posts and 4 products. The theme adds 29 block patterns.

  • Quality gates passed: php -l on every file, phpcs with WPCS 3 and PHPCompatibilityWP 7.4+ at 0 errors, the flat-theme size budget and no-3D scan, and the WordPress Theme Check plugin with no required-level failures.
  • Flows tested: add to cart, mini cart, cart, checkout and order received; quote requests with valid and tampered input; CV uploads with valid and fake files; live editing of the Photo Hero in Elementor.

All names, licences and figures in the demo are fictional samples.

Buyers want something else: an idea of the price before they ring, proof that the company is licensed, and a way to get cover started without a week of email. DEV3 Sentrova is our security guard WordPress theme built around those needs. This post covers who it suits, how the quote wizard works and how to set it up.

Who Sentrova is for

  • Guarding and patrol companies that sell static posts, mobile patrols and keyholding.
  • Event security and door staff providers who quote per event and need a clear brief.
  • CCTV monitoring and concierge providers with a control room they want to show off.

If you only need a one-page contact site, a simpler business theme will do. Sentrova suits a company with several services, several kinds of client and people to hire.

A quote wizard that checks itself

The wizard asks four things: the type of site, the cover (service, guards on post at the same time and hours), extras with a start date, and who you are. An estimate panel updates as the visitor chooses.

The number in the browser is only a preview. When the form is sent the server validates the site type, service, guard count, hours, extras and start date, recomputes the estimate and rejects anything that does not fit. Your inbox gets the checked figure, not whatever a browser sent.

You set the base rate in the Customizer. Site and service multipliers, cover presets, extras and the volume discount can be changed with filters described in the documentation.

Site-type tabs sit on the bottom of the home hero. Each one shows the risks you plan for in that sector and links into the wizard with the site type already chosen.

The licences and certifications wall shows each licence as a card with the issuer, number and expiry. The demo numbers are fictional and stamped as samples; replace them with your own accurate details and never show a licence you do not hold.

Careers that handle files properly

Jobs have their own pages with duties, requirements and benefits, and an application form with a CV upload. Uploads are limited to PDF, DOC and DOCX up to 5 MB, checked by signature, renamed, stored in a private folder and downloadable only by editors.

Set it up in an afternoon

  1. Install the theme and the bundled DEV3 Theme Toolkit, then import the demo.
  2. Open Appearance, Customize, Sentrova: business details and set your phone, base rate, currency and disclaimers.
  3. Replace the demo services, sectors, licences and jobs with your own.
  4. Edit the pages in Elementor or the block editor; every section is a widget or a pattern.

Everything in the demo is fictional, and the theme never implies police or government authority. You stay responsible for the claims and licences you publish.
