DEV3 Profilo is a free WordPress theme for one person: developers, designers, photographers, consultants and freelancers who want a resume, a digital business card and a portfolio in one place. It is compact and card-like: a light grey page, rounded white cards, mono labels and a sticky profile card, with a photo-hero card on top. Motion is light (split headline, reveals, counters, growing skill bars) and respects reduced motion. There is no 3D or WebGL in the theme at all.

One profile, many outputs

  • Fill Appearance → Customize → Profilo: profile once: name, title, tagline, bio, contact details, availability, social links, experience, education, skills, services, numbers and photos.
  • The same data drives the one-page resume, the printable CV, the digital business card, the .vcf contact file and the footer.
  • Three demo personas (developer, designer, photographer) fill every empty field with a complete profile. Switch persona in the Customizer, then type your own values to replace the text.
  • Five colour presets: Indigo, Emerald, Rose, Graphite and Sky.

The one-page resume

  • A sticky profile card with portrait, availability chip, contact details and generic social icons.
  • Hero, about with counters, a dated experience timeline, skills as bars or chips, education, services, portfolio with filters and a lightbox, testimonials and contact.

Printable CV

A page template that builds a one-page A4 CV from your profile. The print stylesheet hides the site chrome, sets the page size and keeps colours, so Print / Save as PDF gives a clean PDF.

Digital business card, vCard and QR

  • A phone-sized digital card page: photo, availability, call, email, website and save-contact buttons, links and a QR code.
  • A .vcf download generated from the Customizer fields.
  • A QR code drawn locally in SVG by the theme: no external API, no tracking.

Portfolio, journal and shop

Projects with client, year, role, result and tools; discipline filters and a lightbox; a journal with rounded cards; and an optional small WooCommerce shop for consultations and downloadable templates, with a slide-out mini cart.

Built for editing

Every demo page is built in Elementor (free) with the DEV3 Theme Toolkit widgets, and 24 block patterns cover the same sections for the block editor. Fonts are self-hosted (Manrope and JetBrains Mono). The demo photos are free-licence stock photos of models, listed in PHOTO-CREDITS.md; every name, client and figure is fictional.

The problem it solves

A freelancer or specialist needs the same story in many places: a website, a PDF CV, a contact card to share and a QR code for events. Most themes make you maintain each copy by hand, and QR codes usually come from a third-party service that tracks scans. Profilo had to keep one source of truth, look compact and personal rather than agency-like, print cleanly to A4 and run without any external API.

Architecture and approach

Profilo is a classic PHP theme on DEV3's flat core. A single Customizer section holds the profile; PHP renderers turn it into the resume sections, the CV and the digital card, and a template redirect builds a vCard 3.0 file from the same fields.

The QR code is a small PHP encoder (byte mode, error correction M) that outputs SVG on the server, verified against a reference encoder. Three persona presets ship as complete profiles, and five colour presets change the accent through body classes.

The layout is a sticky profile card beside stacked rounded cards, with the toolkit Photo Hero as a card on top. The CV page has an A4 print stylesheet. No 3D or WebGL code ships in the theme.

Quality gates and results

Profilo ships as a free download with a one-click demo: 7 pages, 18 portfolio projects across three personas, 9 testimonials, 6 journal posts, 4 shop products and 24 block patterns.

It passes PHP lint, WordPress coding standards (0 errors, 0 warnings), Theme Check with no required issues, the WooCommerce checkout flow and an Elementor editor test, and its no-3D gate.

Pick Developer, Designer or Photographer and every empty field fills with a complete, fictional profile, down to the skills, services and testimonials. Five colour presets change the accent: Indigo, Emerald, Rose, Graphite and Sky.
