DEV3 Applora is a free WordPress theme for mobile app landing pages: habit trackers, planners, fitness and finance apps, games and any product that lives on a phone. It is bright and playful: Instrument Sans headlines, violet and cyan with pink and sun accents, sticker-style cards with hard shadows and pill buttons, and phones in every section. Motion is light (split headings, reveals, counters, stacked cards, floating phones) and it respects reduced motion. There is no 3D or WebGL in the theme at all: the phone frames are flat CSS and SVG, and the app screens in the demo are drawn artwork of a fictional app.

A hero led by phones

  • The toolkit's Photo Hero widget with a purple tint, a split headline, and two generic text download buttons (Download on iOS, Get it on Android). They are plain links, not the official store badges, and you set the links once in the Customizer.
  • Three drawn phones with floating stickers sit beside the copy on desktop and below the photo on tablets and phones.

Feature sections and screenshot carousels

  • Feature rows with a swipeable screenshot carousel (touch, mouse, arrow keys, arrows and dots), six drawn screens, and your own screenshots drop into the same frame.
  • A how it works stack of sticky cards, a wide screens gallery, counters, reviews and an FAQ.
  • A Features post type with one page per feature: pills for plan, status and platform, a tilted phone and a list of what you get.

Pricing that switches

  • A Free, Pro and Team pricing table with a monthly / yearly toggle and a Save badge, plus a sticky-header plan comparison table.

Changelog, help centre and press kit

  • A changelog with version, date, tags and filters.
  • A help centre with search, categories, articles with a docs sidebar, breadcrumbs and an on-this-page list.
  • A press kit page: fact sheet, boilerplate with a copy button, app icon and wordmark cards, colour swatches with copy-hex buttons, screenshots, people and a downloadable PDF.
  • A waitlist page and footer signup; signups are stored under Requests and emailed to you.

A small shop

Built for editing

Every demo page is built in Elementor (free) with the DEV3 Theme Toolkit widgets, and 28 block patterns cover the same sections for the block editor. Colours and fonts come from one token file and sync to the Customizer, theme.json and the Elementor kit. Fonts are self-hosted. The demo photos are free-licence (CC0) stock photos listed in PHOTO-CREDITS.md; the app, brand, people, reviews and figures are fictional.

How it's built

Architecture, stack, key decisions and the quality gates DEV3 Applora passed before release.

Our own free WordPress theme for mobile app landing pages: flat CSS phone mockups with drawn screens, screenshot carousels, a Free/Pro/Team pricing toggle, changelog, help centre, press kit and waitlist, on our no-3D theme core.

The problem it solves

An app landing page has a tough job: show the product in seconds, make downloading obvious and answer pricing, privacy and support questions without a long page. Most app themes lean on glossy 3D phone renders and screenshots of real apps, which are heavy, hard to edit and often borrow other companies' interfaces. Applora had to feel playful and phone-led, ship no 3D or WebGL, work with the visitor's own screenshots, stay fully editable in Elementor, and still cover the pages an app needs: pricing, changelog, help, press and a waitlist.

Architecture and approach

Applora is a classic PHP theme with theme.json, built on DEV3's shared theme core in flat mode: a "flat": true token stamps a WebGL-free boot and a build gate fails the theme if any three.js or WebGL code reaches its assets. The always-loaded JavaScript is about 12 KB gzipped.

The phone frames are plain CSS with inline SVG screens that scale with container query units, so one definition serves the hero cluster, the carousels, the feature pages and the block patterns. A small lazy script adds carousel arrows, dots and the press-kit copy buttons; everything works without it.

The DEV3 Theme Toolkit provides the post types (features, changelog, help articles, reviews) and widgets (Photo Hero, pricing with a billing toggle, comparison, changelog, docs, FAQ, newsletter). The download buttons are generic text links with their URLs in the Customizer, never the official store badges.

Quality gates and results

Applora ships as a free download with a one-click demo: 5 Elementor pages plus pricing, press and waitlist, 6 features, 8 release notes, 12 help articles, 6 reviews, 8 journal posts, 6 shop products and 28 block patterns.

It passes PHP lint, WordPress coding standards (0 errors, 0 warnings), Theme Check with no required issues, the WooCommerce checkout flow and an Elementor editor test, and its no-3D gate.

A free app landing page theme for WordPress: phones, pricing and a press kit: DEV3 Applora

An app landing page has to do three things fast: show the product, make the download obvious and answer the questions people have before they commit. DEV3 Applora is a free WordPress theme built for exactly that. It is playful and led by phones, every page is editable in Elementor, and there is no 3D anywhere: the phone frames are flat CSS and the app screens are drawn artwork.

Who Applora is for

  • Indie developers and small studios launching a habit, planner, fitness, finance or game app.
  • Product teams that need a landing page plus pricing, a changelog and a help centre in one theme.
  • Agencies building app sites that the client can keep updating in Elementor.

Phones in every section

The hero opens with a photo and three floating phones. Feature sections pair short copy with a screenshot carousel that scrolls and snaps with touch, mouse and arrow keys. Your own screenshots drop into the same frame.

The download buttons are generic text links, "Download on iOS" and "Get it on Android", not the official store badges. You set both links once in the Customizer.

Pricing that switches

The Free, Pro and Team table has a monthly / yearly toggle with a Save badge, and a sticky-header comparison table sits under it.

Changelog, help centre and press kit

  • A changelog with version, date, tags and filters.
  • A help centre with search, categories, a docs sidebar and an on-this-page list.
  • A press kit with a fact sheet, a boilerplate with a copy button, logos, colour swatches and a downloadable PDF.

Waitlist and a small shop

The waitlist page and the footer form collect signups in WordPress. The WooCommerce shop styles Pro and Team licences, a downloadable printable and merch in the same sticker look.
