A free film and video production WordPress theme: showreel, credits and rentals
Last updated

A production company's website has one job before anyone reads a word: feel like a film. After that it needs the reel, the credits, the people, a way to brief you and, if you own kit, a way to rent it. DEV3 Cinevox is a free WordPress theme built for exactly that, with a looping showreel in a letterbox instead of heavy effects, and every page editable in Elementor.

Who Cinevox is for
- Commercial, music-video and documentary directors and the small companies they run.
- Corporate video studios that want to show real films, not stock icons.
- Production houses with kit to hire, who want an equipment list and a rental request form in the same site.
The reel first
The home page uses the toolkit's Photo Hero in background-video mode: a short muted MP4 loops inside a 2.39:1 letterbox. A decorative camera HUD shows a REC dot and running timecode, a Play reel button opens the full reel in a dialog with sound, and a small control pauses the loop. Phones on data saver and visitors who prefer reduced motion see the poster photo.
Films with credits and stills
Each film stores its client, year, runtime and format, a video link, the brief, an end-credits list and awards. The film page opens with a letterboxed hero, a player that shows an embed placeholder until you paste a Vimeo, YouTube or MP4 link, the credits, and a strip of numbered stills that open in a lightbox. Nothing from a video host loads until the visitor presses play.

Services, crew and the process
Six services each carry a from-budget, a turnaround, deliverables, a numbered how-it-runs list and FAQs. Crew profiles list selected credits and favourite kit, and a five-scene process and a clients wall of text wordmarks round out the story.

Rent the kit, brief the crew
The equipment list groups kit by kind with day and week rates and stock. A rental request form lets the visitor choose a kit and dates; requests are stored privately and emailed to you. A separate quote and brief form (Contact Form 7) asks for project type, budget range, delivery date and the idea.

A small shop
WooCommerce is styled for LUT packs, grading presets and course PDFs sold as instant downloads, with a slide-out mini cart.

Built for editing
Every demo page is built in Elementor with the DEV3 Theme Toolkit widgets, and 27 block patterns cover the same sections in the block editor. Colours and fonts come from one token file and sync everywhere; fonts are self-hosted. The demo photos are free-licence stock listed in PHOTO-CREDITS.md, the demo reel is generated from them with an original soundtrack, and every name, client and film is fictional.
Selected work — letterboxed film cards from the Work post type; the black bars open on hover.
