DEV3 Hireloom is a free WordPress theme for job boards, recruitment agencies, careers hubs and niche vacancy sites. It is friendly and app-like: Rubik headlines, an iris-white canvas, indigo actions with mint highlights, wordmark tiles for companies and a search card that overlaps a photo hero. Motion is light (split headings, reveals, counters, a slow Ken Burns drift) and respects reduced motion. There is no 3D or WebGL in the theme at all.

A job board people can use

  • A Jobs post type with employment type, location, work arrangement (on-site, hybrid, remote), salary range and period, level, apply-by date and a featured flag.
  • A jobs archive with a filter sidebar: keyword, place, category, job type, arrangement, level, minimum salary, posted date and sort. Everything is a plain GET form, so filters work without JavaScript and every result page is linkable.
  • Job rows with a company wordmark, salary, arrangement and level, and a job page with a photo hero, what you will do and bring, benefits, a sticky summary card and a sticky mobile Apply bar.

Applications with a CV

  • An apply form with a CV upload (PDF, DOC or DOCX, up to 5 MB). The server checks the file type, size and signature, renames the file, stores it in a private folder with a deny-all rule, and only people who can edit posts can download it from the request screen.
  • Honeypot, nonce and rate limit on every form; requests are saved as private entries and emailed to the site admin.
  • Job alerts sign-up (also in the footer) and an employer form for listing details.

Companies and employers

  • Company profiles with tagline, headquarters, size, perks, hiring steps, an employee rating and the company's open roles. All demo companies are fictional with text wordmarks.
  • Paid job listing packages built with WooCommerce: a single listing, a growth pack and an unlimited plan, plus add-ons, with a pricing page, comparison table and slide-out mini cart.
  • A candidate tips blog for CVs, interviews, pay and remote work.

Search engines

Every job page prints JobPosting JSON-LD (title, description, date posted, valid-through, employment type, hiring organisation, location or remote flag and base salary) so listings can appear in Google for Jobs.

Built for editing

Every demo page is built in Elementor (free) with the DEV3 Theme Toolkit widgets, five job-board widgets (search card, job list, company cards, categories, job form) and 25 block patterns for the block editor. Colours and fonts come from one token file and sync to the Customizer, theme.json and the Elementor kit. Fonts are self-hosted. The demo photos are free-licence (CC0) stock photos listed in PHOTO-CREDITS.md; all companies, roles, salaries and people are fictional.

How it's built

Architecture, stack, key decisions and the quality gates DEV3 Hireloom passed before release.

Our own free WordPress theme for job boards: filters that work without JavaScript, job pages with CV upload, company profiles, job alerts, paid employer packages in WooCommerce and JobPosting JSON-LD, on a no-3D theme core.

The problem it solves

A job board has two audiences with opposite needs. Candidates want to scan many jobs quickly and see pay, place and arrangement before they commit. Employers want a listing that is easy to buy and gets read. Most job-board themes lean on heavy plugins, hide salary and bury filters behind scripts. Hireloom had to make search and filters work without JavaScript, take a CV upload safely, show company profiles and paid packages, mark up every job for Google, and stay editable in Elementor on a core that ships no 3D code.

Architecture and approach

Hireloom is a classic PHP theme with theme.json on DEV3's shared theme core in flat mode: a WebGL-free boot and a build gate that fails the theme if any three.js or WebGL code reaches its assets. The always-loaded JavaScript is about 12 KB gzipped.

Jobs reuse a toolkit post type with job fields. The archive reads plain GET parameters (keyword, place, category, type, arrangement, level, minimum salary, posted date, sort) in pre_get_posts, so every filter works without JavaScript and every result is linkable. A job page prints JobPosting JSON-LD with salary and valid-through dates.

Applications use a theme-local form handler: nonce, honeypot and rate limit, then a server check of extension, size and file signature for PDF, DOC and DOCX, a random file name and a private folder with a deny-all rule. Only editors can download a CV, through a nonce-protected admin action. Employer packages are WooCommerce products with a pricing widget and comparison table.

Quality gates and results

Hireloom ships as a free download with a one-click demo: 6 Elementor pages, 24 jobs in 8 categories, 10 fictional companies, 8 candidate tips, 5 packages and add-ons in the shop, and 25 block patterns.

It passes PHP lint, WordPress coding standards (0 errors, 0 warnings), Theme Check with no required issues, the WooCommerce checkout flow and an Elementor editor test, and its no-3D gate.

A job board has two audiences who want opposite things. Candidates want to scan many jobs fast and see pay, place and arrangement before they commit. Employers want a listing that is easy to buy and gets read. DEV3 Hireloom is a free WordPress theme built for both: filters that work without JavaScript, a CV upload that is stored safely, company profiles, job alerts and paid employer packages, all editable in Elementor.

Who Hireloom is for

  • Niche job boards and vacancy sites for a sector or a city.
  • Recruitment agencies that want a branded jobs page with company profiles.
  • Careers hubs for associations, colleges and communities.

Search that works without JavaScript

The jobs archive is a plain GET form: keyword, place, category, job type, remote or hybrid, level, minimum salary, posted date and sort. Because every filter is a URL parameter, results are linkable, cacheable and work for visitors on slow connections or with scripts blocked.

Job pages that sell the role

Each job shows the company wordmark, salary range, arrangement and level, what you will do and bring, and a sticky summary card. On phones a sticky Apply bar keeps the next step in reach. Every job prints JobPosting JSON-LD with salary and valid-through dates, so it can appear in Google for Jobs.

Applications with a CV

The apply form takes a PDF, DOC or DOCX up to 5 MB. The server checks the extension, size and file signature, renames the file, stores it in a private folder with a deny-all rule and lets only editors download it from the request screen. Forms also carry a nonce, a honeypot and a rate limit.

Alerts, companies and packages

Candidates can create job alerts from a page or from the footer. Companies get profiles with perks, hiring steps and their open roles. Employers buy listing packages from the WooCommerce shop, shown with a pricing widget and a comparison table.
