DEV3 Dentora is a free WordPress theme for dental clinics, family dentists, orthodontists and cosmetic dentistry practices. It is bright and reassuring: Manrope headlines, clean white and aqua surfaces, a deep navy, a sky-blue accent with an apricot highlight, big soft corners and real photography in every section. Motion is light (split headings, reveals, counters, a slow Ken Burns drift on the hero) and it respects reduced motion.

A hero that puts the appointment first

  • The toolkit's Photo Hero widget: one photo, a cross-fading slideshow or a muted background video, with an overlay, optional Ken Burns drift, a split headline, two buttons and trust chips.
  • A floating appointment bar sits under the hero: treatment, day and time of day, then your details.
  • An apricot Emergency pill with your emergency number lives in the header, next to click-to-call.

Treatments, dentists and timetables

  • Treatments with a guide price, appointment length, visits, a comfort note, a step-by-step "what happens" list and FAQs; each page has a sticky price card and an appointment form with the treatment preselected.
  • Dentists with a directory you can filter by name or treatment, a green accepting new patients badge, profiles with training, languages, special interests and timetable, and a who is in week grid built from each dentist's hours.
  • A live opening hours card with today highlighted and an Open now pill, driven from the Customizer.

Smile gallery, payment plans and new patients

  • Before and after sliders for whitening, makeovers and aligners.
  • Payment plans, a monthly payment calculator, Smile Club membership and an insurance list.
  • A new patients page with a first-visit timeline, downloadable forms and a checklist, plus an emergency page with a click-to-call card.

Built for editing

Every demo page is built in Elementor (free) with the DEV3 Theme Toolkit widgets, and 24 block patterns cover the same sections for the block editor. Colours and fonts come from one token file and sync to the Customizer, theme.json and the Elementor kit. Fonts are self-hosted. The demo photos are free-licence stock photos listed in PHOTO-CREDITS.md; the clinic, dentists, reviews, insurers, prices and figures are fictional.

How it's built

Our own free WordPress theme for dental clinics: a photo hero with an appointment bar, treatments with guide prices, dentists with a who-is-in timetable grid, before and after smiles, payment plans and an emergency page.

The problem it solves

Patients choose a dentist on trust and fear: they want to see a friendly face, know the price, find a slot quickly and know what to do when it hurts. Most dental themes answer with stock tooth icons and a contact form. Dentora had to make the booking path obvious on every page, show who is in and when, state guide prices without overpromising, give anxious patients reassurance, stay fully editable in Elementor, and do it with photography and light motion only.

Architecture and approach

Dentora is a classic PHP theme with theme.json, built on DEV3's shared theme core in flat mode: a WebGL-free boot (smooth scroll, header, motion) and a build gate that fails the theme if any heavy graphics code reaches its assets. The always-loaded JavaScript is about 12 KB gzipped.

The DEV3 Theme Toolkit provides the post types (treatments, dentists, patient reviews) and the widgets: the Photo Hero opens every page, the request form takes appointment requests with the treatment or dentist preselected, and Before / After, Pricing, Calculator, FAQ and Timeline cover the niche. Each dentist stores a plain-text timetable, and the theme turns those lines into a weekly who-is-in grid and an opening-hours card with an Open now pill. The demo uses free-licence CC0 photos with a credits file.

Quality gates and results

Dentora ships as a free download with a one-click demo: 7 Elementor pages, 10 treatments, 5 dentists, 8 sample patient reviews, 6 articles, 5 shop products and 24 block patterns.

It passes PHP lint, WordPress coding standards (0 errors, 0 warnings), Theme Check with no required issues, the WooCommerce checkout flow and an Elementor editor test.

Treatments, dentists and timetables

Every treatment shows a guide price, how long it takes, how many visits and a comfort note, then what happens at the visit and the questions patients ask. Dentists have profiles with a new-patient badge, training, languages and a timetable, and the Dentists page builds a who is in grid from those hours.

Smiles, plans and a first visit

The smile gallery uses before and after sliders. Prices and plans covers 0% payment plans, a monthly payment calculator, a membership and the insurers you accept. New patients gives a first-visit timeline, downloadable forms and a checklist.

Set it up in an afternoon

  1. Install the theme and the DEV3 Theme Toolkit, then import the demo from Appearance → DEV3 Demo.
  2. Replace the demo photos with your own, and edit the hero slides in the Photo Hero widget.
  3. Rewrite the treatments, add your dentists and their timetables.
  4. Set your phone, emergency number, booking link and opening hours under Appearance → Customize → Dentora: business details.
