How to use the law firm and consultancy website template
Build trust before the first phone call
People choose a law firm or consultancy by credibility. This template uses a restrained palette, classic serif type, clear structure and plain language to signal experience and calm. It has the five pages most firms need: home, practice areas, attorneys, case results and contact.
Edit in the right order
- Firm name and contact. Replace "Hartley & Voss", the address, phone and email across all pages and the footer.
- Practice areas. Keep the areas you genuinely handle and write two sentences per area in plain English. Each card links to the contact page.
- Attorneys. Replace the illustrated portraits with professional headshots, and write each bio around the problems that person solves, with real admissions and specialisms.
- Case results. Only publish outcomes you are allowed to share, and keep the "past results do not guarantee" line visible. Use the category filter to let visitors find relevant results.
- Contact. Update the form, hours and map. Keep the consent checkbox so people understand that sending a form does not create a client relationship.
Compliance and ethics
Rules about legal advertising, testimonials and case results vary by jurisdiction. Treat the template wording as a starting point and have it reviewed by your regulator guidance or compliance officer. Avoid superlatives you cannot prove and never imply guaranteed results.
Design notes
The look is conservative on purpose: dark charcoal hero, burgundy accents, brass details and plenty of white space. All colours are variables in assets/style.css. Animations are light and switch off for visitors who prefer reduced motion. Contrast and focus styles are built in.
Going live
Upload to any static host, add your name, address and phone number consistently across your Google Business Profile and directories, and write a unique title for each page with your city. For client portals, secure document upload or online payments, DEV3 can build them around this design.
Accessibility, motion and licence
The template uses semantic landmarks, a skip link, visible focus styles and readable contrast. Motion is limited to gentle fade-ins and hover states, and it switches off for visitors whose device asks for reduced motion. There is no 3D, no WebGL and nothing to load from a CDN. Everything is free for personal and commercial use, and the brand names, people and prices are fictional, so replace them before launch. The README in the zip lists every file and the first edits to make.
Frequently asked questions
Is the legal disclaimer enough?
It is a sample. Advertising and disclaimer rules differ by country and professional body, so have your own compliance team review the wording, the case results and any claims before launch.
How do I change the case result categories?
Each result is an article with a data-a attribute holding its category. Edit that and the matching filter button label.
Can I use it for accountants or consultants?
Yes. Rename the practice areas, replace attorneys with consultants and rewrite the results as client outcomes.
Is the contact form secure?
It opens an email draft by default, which is not confidential. For intake, use a secure form service or portal, add a privacy notice and avoid collecting privileged details.
Can I add a blog or insights section?
Yes. Add an insights.html in the same style, or link to a separate CMS. Fresh articles help local search.
