How to use the image watermark tool

Watermark a whole folder in one go

A watermark discourages casual copying, credits the author and turns every shared picture into a small advertisement. Doing it by hand for dozens of files is tedious, so this tool applies the same mark to a whole batch.

Steps

  1. Drop up to 50 images onto the page. Click any thumbnail to preview it.
  2. Choose Text or Logo.
  3. For text, type the wording, such as a copyright line or a web address, and pick the font, colour, bold and outline. The outline keeps white text readable on bright areas and dark text on dark ones.
  4. For a logo, upload a PNG with a transparent background. Wide logos are fitted inside the size you set.
  5. Set the size as a share of the image width. That way the mark is the same relative size on a 800 pixel and a 6000 pixel photo.
  6. Change opacity and rotation.
  7. Choose a single mark and one of nine positions with a margin, or a tiled pattern with adjustable spacing.
  8. Download the current image, or all of them as a zip.

Single or tiled

Use a single mark in a corner for portfolios, product photos and blog images, where a clean look matters. Use a tiled, slightly rotated pattern on proofs, stock previews and anything you do not want reused without permission, because it is hard to remove.

Tips

  • Place corner marks where they will not cover a face or product detail.
  • Keep marks readable but gentle. A mark that is too strong makes people ignore the picture.
  • Output files stay in their original format: JPG stays JPG, PNG stays PNG and WebP stays WebP.
  • Always keep your unmarked originals safe. A watermark cannot be reliably removed later.

Frequently asked questions

Can I watermark many photos at once?

Yes. Add up to 50 images, set the watermark once, check the preview on any of them and download them all in one zip. File names get a -watermarked suffix.

What is the best watermark for protecting photos?

A semi-transparent tiled mark that crosses the subject is hardest to crop out. A corner logo is tidier and looks more professional but is easy to cut off. Many photographers use a corner mark for portfolios and a tiled mark for client proofs.

Which opacity looks best?

Between 30 and 60 percent is usually visible without ruining the picture. For tiled marks go lower, around 20 to 35 percent.

Do my originals change?

No. Your files are only read. The watermarked copies are new files that you download.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Every step happens inside your browser. Nothing is sent to any server.
