How to use the business card maker

Design a card and print it properly

Type your details, choose a layout and colours, and the live preview shows the front and the back. When it looks right, download a PDF in the format your printer or your office printer needs.

Fill in the card

  1. Enter your name, job title, company and contact lines. Leave a line empty to remove it from the card.
  2. Add a logo if you have one. A transparent PNG works best.
  3. Pick a layout: Classic has an accent bar and left-aligned text, Centred is symmetrical, Band puts your name on a colour band.
  4. Choose background, text and accent colours. Keep strong contrast between text and background so the card stays legible when printed small.

Download for print

  • Single + bleed: each side is its own page with 3 mm bleed and crop marks. Send this to a print shop.
  • 8 per A4 or 10 per A4: cards sit edge to edge with cut marks in the margins, ideal for printing on card stock at home or in the office.
  • Tick Include the back side to add a second page. On sheets, the back page is mirrored so fronts and backs line up when printed double-sided with a long-edge flip.

Print checklist

  • Print at 100% scale; turn off "fit to page".
  • Use 300 gsm or heavier card stock.
  • Cut one test card and check the edges before cutting the lot.
  • Keep text at least 3 mm inside the cut line.

Limits

PDF text supports Latin characters only. Colours are RGB, and a professional printer may convert them to CMYK, which can look slightly duller. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

What size should a business card be?

Common sizes are 85 x 55 mm in Europe, 3.5 x 2 inches (88.9 x 50.8 mm) in the US and 91 x 55 mm in Japan. Pick one in Card size and the preview, bleed and sheets all follow.

What is bleed and why do I need it?

Bleed is extra background that extends 3 mm past the cut line so no white edge shows if the guillotine is slightly off. The single-card PDF includes 3 mm of bleed and crop marks outside it.

How do I print at home?

Choose the 8-up or 10-up sheet, print on card stock at 100% scale (no fit-to-page), then cut along the marks. For double-sided cards print the back page on the reverse, flipping on the long edge.

Can I use my logo?

Yes. Upload a PNG or JPG; it is resized in your browser and placed on the front and, in the Classic and Band layouts, next to your name. The back uses the logo above the company name.

Is my design uploaded anywhere?

No. The preview and PDF are generated in your browser and the draft is saved only on your device.
