Countdown and Pomodoro Timer
Count down to any event with a shareable link, or focus with a Pomodoro timer that has work and break cycles, sound and desktop notifications.
Free, no sign-up. Runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
Event
The link stores the exact moment, so friends in other time zones see the right countdown. Nothing is uploaded.
Time remaining
Pick a date and time.
Settings
One set is 130 minutes. Keep this tab open; the timer uses the clock, so it stays accurate even if the tab is throttled.

How to use the countdown and pomodoro timer
Two timers for two jobs
Use the Event countdown to watch a date approach, and the Pomodoro timer to get focused work done.
Event countdown
- Give the event a name, such as "Product launch" or "Holiday".
- Choose the date and time in your own time zone. The default is 30 days from now.
- Watch days, hours, minutes and seconds tick down. When the moment arrives you see a "Time is up" message, and a short sound plays if sound is on.
Press Copy share link to get a URL that carries the event. Anyone who opens it sees the same countdown, converted to their own time zone, which makes it ideal for webinars, launches, weddings and exam dates. Use Test sound to check your speakers beforehand.
Pomodoro timer
The classic method uses 25 minutes of focus, a 5-minute short break, and a 15-minute long break after every fourth round. All four numbers can be changed, from one minute to three hours.
- Start, Pause and Resume control the current phase.
- Skip jumps to the next phase, for example if you finish early.
- Reset returns to the first round.
- A counter tracks how many focus sessions you completed.
The browser tab title shows the remaining time, so you can glance at it from another tab. Turn on Enable notifications to receive a desktop alert at the end of each phase, and keep the sound option on for an audible chime.
Getting the most from it
- Write down one task before you start a focus round and do nothing else until it ends.
- Use the break to stand up and look away from the screen.
- If a round is interrupted, reset it rather than counting a half session.
- Your Pomodoro settings are remembered in this browser only.
Everything runs locally and nothing is uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
How does the shareable countdown link work?
The link stores the event name and the exact moment as a number, so it opens the same countdown for everyone and shows it in their own time zone. Nothing is saved on a server.
What is the Pomodoro technique?
Work in a focused block of 25 minutes, take a 5-minute break, and after four rounds take a longer 15-minute break. You can change every length in the settings.
Will the timer keep running in a background tab?
Yes. It works from the clock rather than counting ticks, so it stays accurate when the browser slows background tabs. Keep the tab open, and enable notifications to be alerted.
Why do I not hear the sound?
Browsers only allow audio after you have interacted with the page. Press Start or Test sound once. Also check the sound option is ticked and your device is not muted.
Are notifications sent through a server?
No. They are ordinary browser notifications created by this page, so the tab must stay open. Permission is requested only when you click Enable notifications.
